With a track record of nearly 10 years, Brok Decor holds a unique position in the world of event decors. Founder Steven Grevenstuk reflects on a career spanning over 25 years, starting at ID&T, and looks ahead to what the future holds: international dominance.

“At some point, I had learned and done so much at ID&T, sitting in every department, that it was time to turn my expertise into my own business. That’s how Brok Decor was born in 2014,” says Steven, who manages all his affairs from a 4000-square-meter facility in Purmerend.

From entrepreneurship comes more entrepreneurship, so Brok Decor continued to grow. Brok Decor International was founded by Steven and his American partner Ryan Delbridge, with the first location in Virginia. Steven and Ryan knew each other from festivals like Mysteryland & Tomorrow World Atlanta in the United States, where they worked simultaneously.

The company outgrew its initial size, as in the Netherlands, 16 full-time employees were already on board, and America was growing just as rapidly. So, the next step was to keep developing! In 2018, the passion for entrepreneurship was born on Aruba, giving rise to Brok Decor Caribbean (operating under the name Famias Caribbean Event Service).

“Corona caused a setback in the events industry, and it was challenging, but we kept our heads above water by being very creative. The focus then shifted more towards building TV studios, brand activations, and interior & project design, resulting in a substantial portfolio in those areas as well,” says Steven.
